1) Through collaborative efforts, we would like to make concrete changes to The City of Houston’s excessive and unusual food truck regulations in order to promote the growth and success of Houston food trucks. Our direct goal is to counter these prohibitive regulations.
2) This site is intended as a clearinghouse for food trucks in the greater Houston area. As mobile vendors know, there are several regulations and documents that are constantly updated by the city. We will try to keep these updated on the site for your reference. If you have an update or document to contribute, please let us know.
3) We are planning a Mobile Food Rally in January 2011. We plan to organize a caravan of food trucks and trailers that will drive through the city to garner support. If you would like to participate or sponsor this event, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re new to the ongoing issues regarding mobile food vendors, please take a look at Ruthie Johnson’s article regarding mobile food truck regulations for The City of Houston, and J.C.Reid’s exposé on biased local news reporting regarding Houston mobile vendors.
SaveOurFoodTrucks.com has an immediate need for Spanish translation, so that we can broaden our message to benefit all mobile vendors in the Houston area. This is a non-profit and sincere effort to promote cultural diversity and true cuisine for the greater benefit of Houstonians.
